ARTICLE XI. LOCATION AND LABELING - Pages 5-6 of the Document
When determining where the automatic external defibrillator will be installed, the following factors should be considered:
1. The place where the defibrillator is installed should be accessible and free of architectural barriers that hinder its use, so in case of ventricular fibrillation or cardiac arrest the defibrillator use sequence should be initiated as soon as possible after the identification of the emergency.
2. If the AED is installed on a wall, it should be done at a height no greater than four feet (4 ').
3. The place where it (AED) is installed must be labeled. The following symbol should be used to identify the availability and location of the automated external defibrillator:
4. The previous label must have a white background with black letters and the heart shaped symbol in red.
5. The instructions on how to use the defibrillator must be available at all times, in Spanish and English, by means of signs and / or printed material and in an auditory manner in Spanish or English.
6. In the place where the automatic external defibrillator is located should include the following instruments:
- Facial mask for resuscitation and / or a mouth-to-mouth resuscitation instrument.
- Medical gloves (Non-latex).
- Disposable shaver
- Gauze and / or bandages.
- Scissors.
ARTICLE XV. PENALTIES - Page 7 of the Document
Any natural or juridical person that infringes for the first time the dispositions of this regulation, will be responsible for an administrative fine not greater than five thousand (5,000) dollars. In the case of incurring again in violation of this regulation in a period of time of one (1) year, the fine imposed may be increased up to a maximum of ten thousand (10,000) dollars.
